Looking for Hawaii Bloggers

macpro | 01 August, 2006 06:09

The Metroblogging Hawaii website is looking for a few Hawaii based bloggers to write about Honolulu or anywhere else in the State. To view the Metroblog website visit this link:

http://hawaii.metblogs.com/

You can write about anything that occurs in Hawaii. Photos are great too. And while the host site discourages it, you can also crosspost from your personal blog to Metroblogging Hawaii, as long as the subject matter is an item more about Hawaii rather than your personal love life or stuff like that.

You can go to the Metroblog website to view blogs from different places around the world.

For more info: http://www.metroblogging.com/about.phtml

The only requirement is that you reside in the city you are blogging from (and in Hawaii's case anywhere within the state).... Here is the link to the application form:

A New Blog from an Old LavaNet User

macpro | 18 July, 2006 20:38

For You, Blue

The main reason for me starting a blog here is to claim my username which is also my lava.net name. I been a lava.net subscriber since April 1995, so that makes it more than 10 years using the same ISP. I was on dialup for the longest of time before I switched over to DSL.

LavaNet has been a good service, though not without some problems, most of all which have been licked most of the times they cropped up. I am quite sure today's lava.net is not the same as the one I walked into a small office and met about 4 or 5 people who were happy to sign me up, especially since I was and still am a Macintosh user.

So now we have this lava.net blog service, and well it's kind of cool and perhaps when I find the time and hopefully a means, I can eventually customize the template.

If you don't know who I am, my name is Mel and I have been on the net ever since I signed up with lava.net. I've published the following websites, which are online elsewhere:

Check these out as they will lead you to other content that I have published online. By the way, if you click on the photo at the top of this post, you can visit my Flickr photo gallery.

I don't quite know if I will post here all of the time, but I'll certainly come back to see what's happening in the lava.net community.

Have a good day.
