There ain't no tits on the radio
Today I was listening to a musical homage to radio when I remembered that there ain't no tits on the radio.
It's as if there are only 2 FM radio stations in Hawaii. One which plays rap/hip hop and one which plays rock.
The reality is that there's only one channel. Clear Channel.
I guess that's why there's an alternative market in satellite radio.
I miss radio free. there's still ktuh and hpr if you can find a show you like.
Posted by: bifyu | June 10, 2006, 09:22the general message was that commercial radio is really crap. it feels like the playlists are half the size here vs. australia.
coupled with the fact that "different" radio stations actually have the _same playlists and you're driven to insanity.
i should write some pro-america posts :P

In all, radio sucks.
Posted by: Toasty | June 10, 2006, 13:35comparatively, australia has 3 main commercial radio owners. austereo, australian radio network (joint venture with clear channel) and the smaller dmg radio.
it promotes competition. i'd say radio is tolerable in australia.
Posted by: julian | June 10, 2006, 15:37Last time I was there...maybe roughly 8 years ago now, all I heard repeated over and over was Erasure, Kylie Minogue and Nelly Furtado. over and over and over and over.. :)
Which isn't too different from the crappy stations here as well. Radio Free Hawaii was tolerable...where listeners supposingly got to vote on their favorite music. But even that turned out to be bullshit because everyone turned around and voted for all the pop music anyway. Same playlist...
KTUH is ok. If you can catch it.
